studio-burö was born as a small multidisciplinary design consultancy in 2008. Its founder, Nick Stevens, created it with the aim of having a fluid, collaborative studio that utilises a network of contacts to fulfil a wide range of projects from interactive installations to small self manufactured products. The studio has a leaning towards tangible interaction experiences.

The studio-buro network includes interaction, product, website and graphic designers, artists, mechanical engineers, photographers, coders, chefs and forecasters. While the studio is based in Oslo, the network and its projects stretch across Europe and Australasia.

Nick Stevens trained as an industrial designer in New Zealand and then amassed 10 years design experience working in consultancies, in-house and as a freelancer before returning to study interaction design in Norway. During his time as a designer he worked on a number of projects including home appliances for Electrolux and AEG, Baby seats for Britax, phones for Nokia, the stadium chair for the 2010 FIFA world cup and Anaesthesia Worksations for Ulco Medical . He has worked in Australia, the UK, Italy and Norway. He has also spoken about design at events both in the UK and Czech Republic.
